It was great taking the Amtrak Texas Eagle up to St. Louis,Mo. for the 2019 S Fall Fest.
Once we arrived at the hotel, while checking in some of the AFSASLA club members were just
starting to set up their modular layout.
The next day I went to one of the classes in the morning
working with wood & plastic in reference to S models, then I went into the main room to mingle with other S model railroaders. It was great buying some rolling stock and scenery items in person.
One of the highlights of my visit there was meeting Don Heimburger of Scenery Unlimited and the publisher and editor of the S Gaugian magazine, who is shutting down after 57 years or so.Thanks for that quality Shinohara code 100 Flex Track & Turnouts from Scenery Unlimited I used on my own Cah SP Shortline S Scale Layout It was great to be able to buy 2 of the final S Gaugian magazines from Don himself.
I also got to meet Dave Blum of NASG who is in charge of the convention scheduling and helping promote S Scale model railroading. We talked about getting more S Scale shows & events down here in the southern states, would like to help in making that happen.
In closing had a blast,it was fun thanks to the American Flyer S Gaugers of the Saint Louis Area.
